New Wal-Mart Center To Add Hundreds Of Jobs In Mankato | Business

Mankato city officials say Wal-Mart has confirmed the city is the location of the company's next Midwest Distribution Center.

The center means some 500-to-700 jobs as well as 550 more in related industries.  It will be located on the city's northeast side between County State Aid Highway 3 and U.S. Highway 14.

City officials got the news during a recent visit to Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas.  City leaders toured the Bentonville Distribution Center to see the operations first hand.   

Wal-Mart has yet to announce the construction schedule for the new distribution center.
