Homeless Family Challenges State Of Minnesota | Events

An inspired family is taking their hopes on the road challenge states to become transplant donors across the country.

In April, Mike Greiner and his family of four sold their home and are traveling to each state to inspire people to sign up as organ donors.

Greiner received a transplant 7 years ago and says he “knows what it’s like to wait for a phone call that could determine if you will live.”
 
According to Organ Donor Awareness, there are over 108,000 people on the transplant waiting list, 18 of which die every day. The Greiner’s are challenging each state to register the most organ/tissue donors in one day.

Today marks the Greiner families 92nd day on the road and they arrived in their fourteenth state, Minnesota, on July 28th. The day to sign up for their contest is August 2nd.  

Currently, 57% of Minnesota Residents over 18 are donors.
