Eighty-two-year-old Peter Achermann of rural Staples left his home to run errands on July 24, 2009. He was last seen on Warner Road by the Crow Wing River Bridge between noon and 1 p.m.

A former Minneapolis cop who was sentenced to more than three years in prison for punching a man at an Andover bar is now in state prison.

Forty-eight-year-old David Clifford’s punch caused the man to have severe and permanent injuries.

Former Minn. Congressman Arlan Stangeland Dies

Former U.S. Rep. Arlan Stangeland, who served in Minnesota's 7th Congressional District from 1977 to 1990, has died. He was 83.
Stangeland died Tuesday at his home at Lake Lizzie, according to Dobmeier Funeral Home.

This Sunday, the family of fallen Cold Spring Officer Tom Decker and officers with the Cold Spring Police Department will be heading to Washington, D.C., for National Police Week. They will be escorted by a motorcade.

Once in D.C., Officer Decker’s name will be placed on the wall at the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial.
